Daycare and Kindergarden Programs

Everyday Art loves to help little ones learn to love art!!!

From toddlers to kinders, Everyday Art has a variety of fun, creative and manageable projects for the youngest artists!  And, as always, we set up, provide smocks and supplies and we clean up all the mess.

For  $10.00/child, Everyday Art comes into your centre to provide an engaging project for the kids.

There are two ways we can instruct.  We can teach the class as a group.  This is great if they are working on listening to instructions etc.  If the teachers feel that this may be beyond the groups ability, we can do small group teaching.  We set up a table at the side of your classroom and call the kids over 4 or 5 at a time.  This way the instruction is more one-on-one and the kids have extra encouragement, support and praise!  The rest of the children enjoy your regulular schedule until it is their turn.

Some of the projects we do with little ones are:

Puppet making

We use either socks or pre-made shapes to which the kids add faces, fur, hair etc.  We can customize this project to any theme that is ongoing in your classroom.  Past projects have included animals, people, medieval (unicorns, dragons etc.), snakes and reptiles, and bugs.  All are gender neutral and all the kids make something they are really proud of.  We have even made “LUV BUGS” for Valentines day.  The kids love to see their little guys hanging with their new friends while drying!

Placemat making

The kids colour a placemat which has an educational picture on the back (usually the alphabet and numbers or shapes) and it is laminated with their names on them.  These are further customized to include RED – “I can’t eat” stickers for allergies so supply staff are clear on students dietary requirements.

Acrylic on Canvas

Acrylic is a medium that many artists today use, and it is really easy to work with, dries quickly and is bright and fabulous.  This makes it the perfect class for us!  We have a lesson on ABSTRACT ART, what it is, if we like it, and some ideas on how to make it.  Then we wash our canvases to get ready for the colour and WHAM!!!!  The kids make amazing, one-of-a-kind works of art that they can be really proud of!  Kids love that the materials are “real” and not skimpy – the canvases are large!  They also love the use of thier imagination when we discuss abstract art.  This class is a favorite among our customers.

We also do recurring art classes.   Do you want 4 sessions so the kids can learn to paper mache?  No Problem!  Just let us know and we can quote you on a multiple visit rate! We often do 4 consecutive weeks (i.e. 4 Thursday mornings) and enjoy a small art show at the end.  The other kids in the school and all the mom’s and dad’s see the amazing work that has been done!

Feel free to call or Email Joanne with questions and we can set up the rest.  Don’t forget, Everyday Art provides discounts for multiple visits to the same school (even if the classes are different) so check out our Discounts Page!

Joanne our instructor was amazing with the children. She was able to keep their attention and able to have the children focus. She was very descriptive when giving directions. She even suggested we do a art show after the 4 weeks which parents loved.”  Sara Fenske, Supervisor, Peekaboo Torquay Mews
